School Wide Positive Behaviour Framework
Mandama has adopted the School Wide Positive Behaviour Framework (SWPBS) which assists schools to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for children and young people. When SWPBS is implemented well, teachers and students have more time to focus on relationships and classroom instruction. Students and staff benefit from:

As part of our school vision, Mandama has created a Positive Behaviour Motto which encourages students to Respect Others with Character and Kindness.

Positive Behaviour Currency
ROCKS!
At Mandama we have introduced a positive behaviour currency system which is is designed to promote happier and healthier relationships with others.
It is a reward based system where students can earn 'Rocks' for positive behaviour and save them up in order to buy class or whole-school rewards throughout the year. These 'Rocks' are named after our positive behaviour motto; 'Respect Others with Character and Kindness', and align with the 3 R's values; Respect (yellow), Responsibility (blue) and Resilience (green). Staff at Mandama hand these out daily to students who have demonstrated one or more of our values. Not only are we noticing higher levels of student motivation and participation in the classroom, we are also seeing a great shift in the positive interactions that students are having with their peers. |
Janine - Our Student Wellbeing Officer
A message from Janine
I feel so privileged and blessed to be Mandama’s student wellbeing officer. In the twelve years whilst working at Mandama, I have loved connecting and getting to know so many wonderful students, staff and families and journeying together in this wonderful adventure of life. I am extremely passionate about empowering, equipping, encouraging, and championing people to grow and flourish. My Role Often the children at Mandama call me the “friendship leader”. I like this term because my role is to be a friend to all and a hand of support to children, families and our wonderful staff. I love teaching and mentoring children in how to have healthy friendships, learn tools for life like how to self regulate and how cope with change. I love running programs such as seasons for growth, breakfast club and the passive play- room. On tough days, I enjoy coming along side students and families that may be having a challenging time and if needed connecting them to the appropriate support services that are available. A bit about me As most know I adore my two Pug dogs Cheech and Charlie, I enjoy going out for breaky, watching movies, drinking cups of tea, travelling, singing, drawing and spending time with my family and Friends. Wellbeing programs at Mandama At Mandama, our students have access to a number of wonderful programs that allow our students to develop their emotional, social and mental wellbeing both at school and outside of school.
